Nagoya University is pleased to share that a team of students from the University made it to the 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟭𝟲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 at the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Competition 2023!
The team of 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗞𝗲 (LLM), 𝗔𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗡𝗴 (Campus Asia Programme) 𝗛𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗲 (Campus Asia Programme) and 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗲 (Campus Asia Programme) represented Nagoya University, held from the 27th-30th June.
The competition involved more than 170 participants from universities around the world; involving a hypothetical dispute between the Respondent (City of Priene) and an Investor-Claimant, as well as the third-party intervention from the Republic of Rome.
The team had to prepare oral arguments for over 9 issues, covering topics from Jurisdictional disputes, Res Judicata, Interim Measures under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, Disclosures of Documents under the IBA Rules and Human Rights obligations amongst others.
The team had a great experience in Frankfurt, Germany, and would like to express their appreciation to 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 Dai 𝗬𝗼𝗸𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗼 as well as Mr 𝗗𝗺𝘆𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗜𝘇𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘃 for their generous support.
