Phan Thi Lan Huong has worked for Hanoi Law University in Vietnam since 1997 with a background in Administrative Law with a focus on human rights protection and rule of law state. She received the MEXT scholarship first time in 2001 for enrolling in the LLM Program at Nagoya University. In 2003, she received a Master of Laws Degree and went back to work at Hanoi Law University. In 2009, she enrolled the LLD Program and received a Doctor of Laws Degree after 3 years. In 2014, Phan was appointed as the Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department. Since then, she also supports collaboration between Hanoi Law University and Nagoya University. She works as a coordinator for the Japanese Law Center as well as the Head of the Representative Office of Nagoya University in Vietnam since 2014.
In 2022, she was recognized as an Associate Professor title by the National Council for Professorship in law major. In addition, she was awarded a Memorandum Medal in recognition of her contribution to education in Vietnam by the Minister of Education and Training.
