"Works-In-Progress Conference: IP Scholars Asia" in Singapore

On March 1-2, 2018, students of the Graduate School of Law (GSL) attended and presented at the "Works-In-Progress Conference: IP Scholars Asia," an international conference organized by the Singapore Management University School of Law with the support of institutions, including the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Trademark Association (INTA).
The conference provided an opportunity for researchers from around the world to gather, present, and debate on recent issues on IP. This year, over 150 researchers participated in the third meeting of this annual conference. While presenters were mostly young researchers, senior researchers chaired panels and took part in debate during the plenary sessions. Ms. Rebecca Ferderer (USA) and Ms. Suthinee Palagawong Na Ayutthaya (Thailand) of GSL participated and gave presentations, while Professor Masabumi Suzuki chaired a session on patent law. Professor Sovath Phin of Paññāsāstra University (Cambodia), who earned his Ph.D. from GSL, was also among the presenters. IP research is an ever-evolving field characterized by increasing international interaction, and we are proud to have our students and alumni actively engaged in international discussions to help shape the future of IP law.
